My "typewriter problem" had been in remission. I'd abstained from posting about typewriters on my blog since 2016, resisted acquiring "new" typers for much longer, and had reduced my collection from over 100 down to less than half that.

Recovering, but then that one drink. I puttered with those I had, but had no interest in finding any new typer treasures. But then there was that one drink - two typewriters found me. Then Robert sidled up in essence, offering another drink. Actually, he’d found my galleries on the Typewriter Database and responded to my invitation there to correspond. I enjoyed the letter he sent last April typed with the lovely upright cursive font of his 1952 Smith Corona Silent. Fully plastered by then, with a silly grin, I not only immediately replied to Robert but also dusted off my old paper address book, gleefully thumbed to the “Typewriter Correspondents” section and got off a couple more letters. Typewriter folk being what they are, I was soon receiving pleasant, informative, and fun letters. What a joy!

A New Blog

I’ve been enjoying my slide into dependency enough that I’ve started up this blog, “Life on Cooligan Hill”. There have been sufficient changes in my life since that 2016 post that it has entered a new era, justifying this new blog which I suspect will have a somewhat different personality than the old one. “Tony's Vision” is still online and contains, I think, some useful and informative posts relating to typewriters, etc.

I am truly thankful to Robert and those other correspondents for their intervention and am looking forward to, once again, becoming a contributing member of The Typosphere!
